As we arrived at Bukit Batok Estate this morning, the street lamps were still on:)
This meant that we were early cos the lamps will auto off at 7 am. We are not
going to set up our table until we have had our coffee:)
The weather did not fail us today... it was going to be a bright n sunny day.
Seven pigeons perched on the roof top waiting patiently for daylight so that they
can start looking for food:) There are indeed lots of pigeons all over Singapore!
Must be there are ample food for them and the production are on the increase:) In fact
I once read in a Reader's Digest that pigeons' droppings are poisonous once they are
dried and spread around:( They are one of the causes of lung problems. I remembered
clearly when I was in pre-university, the principal of my school had someone killed the
pigeons in school:( We were appalled by that act being young students at that time!
Today I have some multi racial customers who are keen on my handmade
tissue holders. One young Chinese lady bought 6 pieces for her colleagues,
another Malay lady bought 3 pieces and finally one Indian housewife bought
3 pieces at a go:) I am thrilled beyond words cos they are all made by me
very recently!
There is only one piece left in the basket:) This piece has a flaw and it is
no accident! I was too lazy to switch thread and hence the dark thread visible
on the white lace is damn ugly:(
These are simple handmade pocket tissue holders which I made
yesterday night and I am so glad they have all gone to handmade
lovers in Bukit Batok East:)
Should you be reading this, I hereby thank you sincerely for liking
my handmade products and I hope to make more items and see
all of you again in the near future:)
Take care folks!
After our bazaar ended, we usually go to the nearest kopitiam (hawker
centers) for our lunch. We heard from one of the vendors at BB that
the claypot rice is very good and we had our first taste of it today:)
For benefits of my overseas visitors, I will briefly explain this dish:)
Claypot rice as the name goes is rice cooked over fire in a claypot:)
Chinese sausages, sauteed chicken cubes, dried salted fish in small
pieces etc all are added into the rice and cooked slowly over fire
until the dish is fragant enough to serve:) Usually, a dark sauce is added
to the rice before we scooped them into bowls and eaten with chopsticks!
Please pardon my grammars as I had a long day today and my mind is now
fuzzy....goodbye
