A Short Trip To Jakarta

A very short trip to Jarkarta with my Indonesian friend before the
month of May ended:)   An hour's flight and upon landing, we went
straight to an Indonesian restaurant for lunch:)  I ordered Lotong and
my hubby, nasi lemak.   The dishes are quite different from Singapore;
the nasi lemak (rice cooked in coconut milk) and lotong have lots of
ingredients as seen in the picture!  Yummy! yummy! is what I can said
of the whole lunch with many other interesting items:)

Kopi Luwak (coffee) is an authentic Indonesian drink:)
Coffee powder is added to boiling water in cup  n I
waited 10 mins before adding my brown sugar n milk.  A bit
bitter and strong but it sure tasted good! A perk me up drink:)

Above features Indonesian kueh wrapped in banana leaves,
glutinous rice wrapped in chicken meat.
Two pieces are enough to fill you up! They are both tasty
and fragrant! And you only pay for what you eat:)

Another interesting n delicious item, Tahu Kipas which I never tried
before in Singapore.  It has some vegetable fillings inside and the tahu are
deep fried until very crispy:)  These go well with the gravy provided n
again one piece is all you need really:)

My Indonesian friend claims that the cendol (this greenish sllimy drink)
is what she missed most!  Those she tasted in Singapore cannot match the
ones in her hometown:)  I find it a little too sweet and added more ice to it!
It really smells nice, I guess due to the brown sugar added to it but too sweet
for comfort:(

Our little break not only come with lots of interesting food but a
3-hour massage n spa treatment for couple:) We were really pampered
from head to  toes  throughout and it was the longest I ever experienced:)
Everything from massage, to jamu treatment on skin, steam bath and jacuzzi
makes you feel so refreshed and alive again!

So much on the first day in Jarkarta and we spent our second day shopping &
feasting again:)  The only setback encountered on this trip is the horrible
traffic jam in Jarkarta! Is nothing like in Singapore, practically the traffic jam starts
when you hit the road until you reach your destination!  We were warned not to
go into the City which is worse and in the end, we had no chance of going
sightseeing:(  Still, is a worthwhile trip hosted by our Indonesian friend and
we flew back to Singapore, home sweet home on the third day!  What a
relief to leave those horrific traffic jams behind!

Alexandra Hospital Staff Bazaar 27th May 2013

Hospital bazaar can be quiet affair as experienced today at
Alexandra Hospital:(

Met two sisters from K.L. and these are some of my buys today
from the wonderful Malaysian crafters:)

These pouches are so beautifully done, I like the mix
of fabrics:)

Today, I actually buy more than I sell:)  Most of my cusrtomers did
not drop by and I guessed they must be busy or on leave etc
I hope to be back in a few months' time with lots of new items for sale:)

Some cute handmade clips made from felt cloth:)
They will look beautiful on kids' hair! I intend to give these to
my friend's daughter:)

Rings Rings Rings for the Month of May

My world of stones!  Collection over the years and I am stoned:)

My ideal would be to make at least 20 rings in a day:)
Too many and I will have sore fingers:(

Customer so loved my wire wrapped rings and bought four at
one go!  Thanks Jacqueline for loving my handmades:)

A more difficult version of rings.  Each takes me more than 30 minutes
to make, including planning the colors and mix of stones etc

Looks like a bunch of berries, these rings never fail
to attract both the young and old:)  I have to be careful
not to make a heavyweight ring which may be uncomfortable
on the fingers!  Anyway, some of these natural stones have
healing power as reduce stress, promote health, prevent mishap,
bring balance of life, bring happiness etc etc

Happenings on Mother's Day

A visit to Merlion Park in the evening after work to take a stroll down memory
Lane.  The park is indeed crowded with many people, lots of tourists from all
over the world.  The night scenery is so beautiful and we can see Marina Bay
Sands across the river!

Garden By the Bay is another prime spot we visited on the same evening.
U can see the Flyer in the back view:)  Stayed an hour here for friends to
take snapshots to bring home:)

Friends from Land of Smile visit me at my Mother's Day Bazaar!
They are given some free gifts and also bought some accessories from
me and put them on straight away:)

A customer posing for me to take a photo for memory sake:)
She just bought a bracelet and a wired wrapped ring! Thanks Samantha
for being such a supportive customer:)

Mother's Day Bazaar @ TP.  Thanks to everyone who  patronized
our booth.  It was indeed an unforgettable day for me!

Some of my recent works being sold at Scape Mall.
I love to work with natural  stones and keep the designs simple:)

again upon request:)

I take this opportunity to wish all mothers in advance A Very
Happy Mother's Day! May we be happy everyday:)

Happenings in May

Since the month of May started, I was practically at Scape for the whole week:)
Though 1st of May, Wednesday was a public holiday aka Labor Day, I was labouring from
morning to night at Scape:) The crowd was good and there was a constant flow
of visitors for the whole day!

My table is directly in front of Toast Box and you can see the human jam:)
There they go off  again after mission completed at Scape Mall! Many came
to shop, meet up with friends for meals or sing at K Box:)

There the crowd comes again and the human jam walking to and fro
in front of me is making me diZzzy!
Scape Mall is back to peace & quiet on Thursday and there are only
a handful of vendors, the rest are either back to work or school.  The
visitors pick up in the evening and only start to thin after the clock hit ten:)
From Friday to Sunday, the usual weekend bazaars is back with full force.
Scape Mall is usually packed with people on Saturday and the ambiance is
s great place where bargain hunters love to visit!

A new week, 6th of May n I was up the hill where Neuros was situated
n had my Mother's Day bazaar around its vicinity.  Contrary to Scape Mall,
there are only six stallholders and the customers are mainly office crowd:)

We are outside the building where the passers-by can have a full view
of our display:) Instead of long hours, we did only lunch crowd and
left the Neuros at 3 p.m.
