KKH Staff Consumer Sales on 27th August 2013

It was a fruitful day at KKH staff consumer sales:)
Held once a month, we are selected to participate and we don't
get to go very often:(  The customers are made up of hospital staff,
visitors to the hospitals, workers n caretakers as well.  Since it is
held at the Women's & Children's Towers, we get to see many
kids as well as pregnant ladies who came for checkup.

There were many food stalls unlike the usual shopping bazaars.  I found some
Malay kueh kueh, swiss rolls n puffs, bottled honey, nuts n crackers, biscuits etc
Children wears, bags and socks are common also, followed by health products.  There
were also two handphone accessories stalls:)   A very mixed bazaar and the customers
have lots of choice.  The human traffic to the hospital also never seem to ends, with the
feeder buses dropping off passengers right infront of the bazaar:)

My table seemed rather messy....done too many market bazaars and my
stocks are all not in order.  I shall try packing them tonight so that I can
arrange n display them in a more presentable way:)
Another day gone by and indeed it was a day well spent at the hospital:)

I thank all my customers and regulars at KKH and hope to be selected again
in the near future!

Weekend Flea Market

This is the weekend flea market which I took part on Saturday &
Sunday instead of going to Scape Bazaar:)  The weather was really
fine, hot and humid and we are selling right under the sky:)

The crowd was enthusiastic and they were really curious to see
what I am selling since it was my first time in this part of their world:)
The flea market is so different from the Scape bazaar, there were vendors selling
household products, some selling clothes, also some selling pots of plants & orchids,
some guys selling beauty creams:) and all sorts of items which I usually
don't see at bazaars.  The customers are residents as well as people who visit
this neighbourhood during the weekends:)

I am glad I took part both on Saturday & Sunday and I get new customers
as well as network some to learn jewellery making from me:)

Above are some fabrics I bought from a shop near the flea market:)
They were both cheap and beautiful and I hope to make something
nice out of it!

This is the coin pouch I hand sewn when I got home to satisfy some
sewing cravings.  I use running stitches and I guess it won't last very
long:(   I will use my sewing machine once I got it in order:)
My girl has cautioned me against buying too many materials as some of
my cloth collections are older than her:)  But I enjoy looking at beautiful
fabrics and this made me feel happy:)  Same as people who like fishing,
they wait whole day and caught a fish n release it back into the water:)
Having a hobby is good for mental health and we have something to look
forward to instead of getting bored.

Thanks to all of you who supported me at the flea market and hope to
see all of you again in the near future:)

Thomson Plaza Bazaar 15th to 18th August 2013

Impromptu Bazaar for 4 days:)  It has been ages since I have been
to this shopping center since Yaohan closed more than a decade ago:)
I used to frequent this Japanese store and love to buy the food items
as well as Japanese crafts:)   Currently, there are so many shops here
retailing clothings, food, kids crafts, accessories, flowers, jewellery...

The past four days went in a blur, cos I am not familiar with the surrounding
and hence felt a bit strange surrounded by so many open concept shops:(
Luckily, the customers and vendors here are both friendly and interested in my
handmade accessories.  I have since made a few good friends and some of them will
visit me at Compass Point next month!
Thanks to those of you who bought my items and also for the moral support given:)

Latest product brought into the market by my brother:)
The V tie (so called) replaces the shoe lace which can be
cumbersome at times:(  No more washing of dirty shoe laces
and these come in packet of 6 at $4.00 per pack or 3 pkts
for $10.00.  You can choose the colors as well and shoe laces
need not be boring anymore:)  The packaging is good enough for
gifts to family n friends!

Breakfast @ Han's before a hard day's work:)
The prices are both economical and the food and coffee leave
a good after taste!   I love Han's coffee C (with carnation milk)
since my younger days.  I used to patronize their outlet at Change Alley when
I worked in Shenton Way.  Now, there are so many outlets all over Singapore!

I wonder when I will be back to Thomson Plaza again?  Is indeed an interesting
place to shop n feast.

Happenings in August 2013

We have a long weekend with Hari Raya on Thursday and National Day on Friday.
I was at Scape from Thursday to Saturday and went off to Bishan on Sunday:)
There are lots of activities at Scape and a National Day Party on Fri where there are
free flow of food from the Four Season Caterers:)

The happy shoppers are in extreme good mood due to the long weekend
and with no stress from work, one really can feel relaxed and join in the crowd,
retail therapy in a festive atmosphere!

Other than good food such as satay, chicken rice, roti pratas,
chendol, fried carrot cakes, laksa etc, visitors to Scape are
given free goodies bags to bring home.  Each bag is filled with
mineral water, biscuits, hats, fans and many other barang barang
as well as vouchers offering great discounts from some shops!

The long weekend also see me visiting Kinokuniya at Takashimaya:)
There is a 20% store wide discount for books and I was so thrilled n bought
many books at one go!  After an hour of of books hunting, I was back to
Scape bazaar to earn some money to compensate for my damage to my pockets:)
I hope to use the long weekend to browse through the books and see if I can
do something productive.  It was really a heavy load to lug home so many books
but I was feeling in ninth heaven:)  A visit to the bookstore indeed lifted my
spirit!
